This is a great place for homemade custard. They are old school as they only take cash but the quality and assortment of flavors are great. The size is good as well. This is one of my top 3 places for frozen desserts.

Salted Caramel Truffle ice cream? Um yes. All of it. In my mouth. Now. Look, the corresponding picture to this review is a crappy one, but don't let that stop you from checking out what Fenik's has to offer! The salted caramel truffle is freaking delicious! It appears to be vanilla ice cream with gooey ribbons of caramel and chunks of chocolate throughout. I've gone twice in the last week to get a scoop (or two) of it! Oh, just remember they only take cash or check, no credit cards. So make sure you have $3.95 for that medium two scoop!

Try the salted caramel truffle custard if you looking for something unusual. Their pistachio is excellent as well. Just a great local Avon Lake spot for custard, ice cream & frozen yogurt.

Went here last night for custard and ice cream. As always the custard was delicious. Ice cream too. They make it on site and serve large portions. Staff is friendly.

Best custard! Treat yourself! Got the vanilla custard and it's the best I've had in a long while. Yum!

My fiancé and I newer to the west side and ice cream junkies. We were excited to try try something new, and so glad we did! One of our new favorite spots !

Love this place! I spoke to one of the owners, Greg, and he said they've been in business for 9 years. They have a bunch of different flavors of custard and a new special flavor every week! Come in and pick up the schedule for the special custard flavors. They also have many great flavors of traditional icecream and frozen yogurt, as well as sundaes and milkshakes! The inside is nicely decorated and the employees are as nice as can be! Come in for a scoop or two and support local businesses. So creamy, tasty, and refreshing.

Meh... The custard/ice cream is outstanding. However, the customer service leaves you feeling empty. There is a sign that clearly states "order here" but the natives just walk up and order anywhere near the counter. Then, they cut the line to pay. Guess those of us in the back, who actually follow the sign, don't have the right color currency.

It's amazing! The custard is top shelf and the owner is the nicest lady ever! It's an old school locale complete with a jukebox! Cash only here so bring the piggy bank.

Mmmm. Frozen Custard. What is frozen custard, you might ask? After an extensive wiki search, we found that- it's a consistency of ice cream, just with egg yolks and no air bubbles in it, as it is transferred to its containers- creating a creamy mixture. It was a hot humid day this past Saturday, so as we were all the way out in Avon - a bit west of us, we decided to look for our favorite summer treat- froyo/ice cream/frozen custard. We entered Fenik's- a well kept soda shop, complete with a jukebox. Apparently, after talking with the owner, the Fenik's own many things around the area- farming, and so on, and that the custard/ice cream shop was one of the many things that were in the family. I was rather surprised at their menu, as they had more than the normal vanilla/chocolate. They had rotating weekly flavors- with this past week's being Mint Chocolate Chip custard. Huh? we said. They also had a salted caramel truffle custard. HUH? We tried it- got a gigantic scoop (they're quite...generous) of the mint chocolate and also of vanilla. I liked the vanilla custard the best to be honest- the mint chocolate chip in custard form...was okay, but not my fave. It's a great place to stop if you're in the west- so I highly recommend it. This place has other items besides frozen custard (like that of homemade ice cream), as well. I do rather prefer East Coast custard on Mayfield, but that's just my opinion. Fenik's is definitely worth the stop though!

Very accommodating in making up for previous mishap. Happy the doors are back open for the season and can't wait to get there for some fantastic custard!

I wanted to come here for a year. I just did and didn't have the best experience. Warm day, busy ice cream shops and just one kid working. Banana was old, and toppings scarce. And, couldn't really tell it to be much different than soft serve. :/ the search continues for good ice cream in Lorain county!

I have been going to this custard place for the 10 seasons they have been opened. If you want good homemade custard, ice cream, or yogurts this is the place to go. The staff is super friendly and the place is always clean. Love this place!!!

Fenik's is a NE Ohio GEM! We discovered this place by accident (as we drove by) after taking our daughter to a child center in Avon Lake. The frozen yogurt and custard is truly 'to die for'! I've lived in several states in my time, and Fenik's custard is as good as some of the world class frozen custards i've had at Coney Island, NY or the Jersey Shore! Sooo creamy and flavorful! I would not be surprised if it is the original formula from Coney Island or Euclid Beach Park (back in the day)! And they have a ton of different flavors, some exotic! Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit soon. Your tastebuds will thank you!
